why sauna?
Swedana Saunas began as a conversation between friends, around a fire pit on a cold Autumn night. Inspired first and foremost by health, the name comes from the Sanskrit word to sweat which is an ancient form of healing therapy, dating back over 2000 years. Sauna culture as we know it originated in ancient Finland around a similar time, where early saunas were simple, earth-dug pits used for community, healing and shelter.
